QuantX Labs is a privately-owned, highly respected Australian company and a world-leader in high-precision timing and quantum sensor technologies.
Established in 2016 and currently employs 40 staff. Our flagship product – Cryoclock – is being manufactured as a key inclusion to the $1.2B AIR2025 JORN Phase 6 Defence upgrade program.
Our facility is located at the Lot Fourteen innovation precinct in the heart of the Adelaide CBD. Providing a unique, sovereign industrial capability to support Australian Defence and Space programs in:
- phased array radar
- surveillance and intelligence
- quantum technology and
- alternate PNT networks.
Our capabilities range from R&D, design and prototyping to assembly, production and testing facilities.
QuantX Labs has a very close working relationship with the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) at the University of Adelaide. IPAS is an industry-focussed R&D powerhouse and is a world-leader in precision quantum sensing technologies.
QuantX and the University of Adelaide have developed a unique translation pathway to successfully commercialise research outputs.

John also built two liquid helium cooled CSOs at NMIJ, AIST Tsukuba Japan as a collaboration with UWA.

Confirmation was received that Cryoclock has a reserved tenancy at Lot Fourteen for the assembly of the Sapphire Clock.
RICO through Army Headquarters fund a demonstration of an array of quantum magnetometers identifying covert subterranean activity.
QuantX receives $1M from SmartSat CRC to deliver an engineering model of their optical atomic clock
Australian Space Agency funds QuantX Labs space clock development a further $3.7M through their Moon to Mars Initiative
Formally launched a collaborative workspace named, RavensNest. Also signifying a doubling of the company tenancy at Lot Fourteen.
